Welcome to The Game Haus’s MLB Farm System Watch series. Today, we will look at who is standing out among the NL West prospects.
Farm System Watch will look at players who are top-30 prospects for their given team and have yet to make their major league debut.
Arizona Diamondbacks
Next Up: Mitch Bratt (LHP)
Current Level: AAA Reno
2026 Stat Line: 44.1 IP/2.84 ERA/0.95 WHIP
Bratt was drafted by the Rangers in 2021 and was traded to the Diamondbacks in the Merrill Kelly deal in 2025. He is known for his pinpoint command with his fastball, cutter, and slider. He is currently on Arizona’s 40-man roster, making a call-up likely in the near future.
Top Prospect: Kayson Cunningham (SS) [MLB #78]
Current Level: A+ Hillsboro
2026 Stat Line: 205AB/.361AVG/.923OPS
Cunningham is a smaller prospect who shines in his ability to get bat-on-ball. He hits for a high average and doesn’t swing and miss very often. Cunningham is seen as potentially a future second baseman in the big leagues.
Colorado Rockies
Next Up: Charlie Condon (1B/OF) [MLB #71]
Current Level: AAA Albuquerque
2026 Stat Line: 235AB/.264AVG/.915OPS
Condon was drafted third overall in 2024 by Colorado. His raw power in college was his selling point, as he hit 62 home runs in 2 seasons. Injuries and issues with hitting breaking pitches have derailed his trajectory a bit since then.
Top Prospect: Ethan Holliday (SS) [MLB #15]
Current Level: A Fresno
2026 Stat Line: 122AB/.262AVG/.952OPS
Holliday is another power prospect for the Rockies. He is the younger brother of Jackson, a current player for the Orioles, and grades out as an even stronger hitter. Concerns with Holliday come with a lot of swing-and-miss and limited range in the field.
Los Angeles Dodgers
Next Up: Jackson Ferris
Current Level: AAA Oklahoma City
2026 Stat Line: 36IP/7.00ERA/1.81WHIP
Ferris came over to the Dodgers from the Cubs in the Michael Busch trade in 2024. He relies almost exclusively on a fastball-slider combination and a three-quarter delivery. His command can be a bit spotty, but he will miss a lot of barrels when he is right.
Top Prospect: Josue De Paula (OF) [MLB #8]
Current Level: AA Tulsa
2026 Stat Line: 253AB/.324AVG/.994OPS
De Paula is one of baseball’s top prospects due to a combination of power and plate discipline. He consistently maintains a high on-base percentage and rarely swings outside the zone. The Dodgers are very excited about this advanced young hitter.
San Diego Padres
Next Up: Garrett Hawkins (RHP)
Current Level: AAA El Paso
2026 Stat Line: 23.1IP/6.17ERA/1.89WHIP
Hawkins relies heavily on his fastball, throwing it almost 70% of the time. His fastball is exceptional, getting a ton of ride up in the zone and generating a ton of whiffs from hitters. Command and lack of a consistent breaking pitch have limited Hawkins’ potential so far.
Top Prospect: Ethan Salas (C) [MLB #48]
Current Level: AA San Antonio
2026 Stat Line: 206AB/.282AVG/.784OPS
Salas has had smaller sample sizes in his few seasons in professional ball due to some injuries. When he has played, he has been a bit of an inconsistent hitter, getting under a lot of pitches and often tinkering with his stance. He is a fantastic defensive catcher.
San Francisco Giants
Next Up: Trent Harris (RHP)
Current Level: AAA Sacramento
2026 Stat Line: 17IP/5.82ERA/2.06WHIP
Harris uses a high arm angle to make the most out of his two primary offerings, a fastball and curveball. He has made great use of his extension and athleticism and has good control of his pitches. Harris’ age has been the primary cause for caution in his prospect status.
Top Prospect: Josuar Gonzalez (SS) [MLB #28]
Current Level: ACL Giants
2026 Stat Line: 38AB/.421AVG/1.209OPS
Gonzales is a promising all-around player for the Giants. He is a switch-hitter with good bat speed and an ability to generate hard contact. He is also fast and twitchy, leading to good baserunning and defense up the middle.
