Sri Lanka A wicket-keeper batter Niroshan Dickwella expects India A to come hard at them in the tri-nation series final, which is scheduled to be played at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium in Dambulla on June 21.
After an intense and much-talked-about Super Over game against India on Monday, Sri Lanka A find themselves locked in against the same opposition, but this time for the bigger prize.
Having played international games for the senior team, Dickwella underlines the importance of handling key moments in big games.
“There will always be pressure situations in a final,” Dickwella told Sportstar. “It’s about how you handle those moments and settle your nerves. We’ve done that well at key stages, but India A have played very good cricket too. I’m sure they’ll come back hard at us, so we’re expecting a tough game.”
With so much experience behind him, Dickwella focuses on approaching the game in the right way and contributing to the team’s win.
“For me, it’s all about how you approach the game on the day and how you contribute to the team,” he said. “To win a match, you first have to win the small situations. Whoever handles those crucial moments better will have a better chance of winning.”
