Multiple AEW, NJPW, & CMLL Talents Reportedly Unaware of Their Forbidden Door 2026 Plans & Original Plans for Gabe Kidd – TPWW

Fightful Select reported that multiple talents spoken to across AEW, NJPW, and CMLL had stated that they had yet to receive any information regarding their plans for the upcoming Forbidden Door 2026 event as of this past Wednesday.

It was reported that wile some talents remain in teh dark about if they will be on the card for the event, several talents spoken to stated that this situation is not unusual and that match assignments do often come together during the week of the show.

In regards to the current creative plans for Forbidden Door 2026, it was reported that those spoken to within AEW stated that the creative plans for the event have been kept a secret with information only being shared on a need-to-know basis as the show gets closer. It was also reported that talent are currently expected to receive clarification on their status and plans for the event will be in the upcoming days.

In regards to the original plans for Gabe Kidd for Forbidden Door 2026, it was reported that those spoken to stated that Kidd was originally expected to be heavily involved in the event prior to his shoulder injury at this past April’s Dynasty 2026 event. Those spoken to within NJPW reportedly stated that there were huge plans for Kidd including him having a championship run. It was also reported that Kidd’s disparaging comments made towards NJPW was going to be part of a storyline heading into the Forbidden Door event.

Kidd made his surprise return from injury at NJPW’s Dominion 2026 event last Sunday and is currently scheduled to be competing in this year’s G1 Climax tournament.

It was reported that it is currently not known if the storyline with Kidd and NJPW will go forward now that Kidd has returned from his injury.
