The Blueshirts were not on Tkachuk’s list of teams where he’d accept a trade, so this is a bit of a moot point, but it does speak volumes about what the front office was hoping. Soft tampering jokes aside, Tkachuk was seen as a borderline savior by Chris Drury and staff, and that the Rangers weren’t even on his list is alarming at best.
