Jacob Fatu paid tribute to Umaga on this week’s episode of WWE RAW.
This week’s episode of RAW took place at the O2 Arena in London. During the show, Jimmy and Jey Uso were shown game-planning for their respective matches against LA Knight on RAW and Oba Femi at Night of Champions.
Jacob Fatu entered the room, and Jey laid into him for showing up late and talking with Solo Sikoa on SmackDown.
“I don’t answer to your punk a**, Jey. I’m on orders from the OTC, and Solo needed to hear something,” Jacob said.
Jimmy asked how that went, considering Solo doesn’t do well with taking orders.
“None of that matters. The only thing that matters, is Solo got the message.”
After Jimmy asked what’s next, Fatu said they sit and wait.
Jacob Fatu honors Umaga during WWE RAW appearance
During the promo, Jacob Fatu could be seen wearing a t-shirt featuring a portrait of Umaga. The WWE legend and former Intercontinental Champion passed away on December 4, 2009, at age 36 from a reported heart attack.
Umaga, real name Eddie Fatu, had four children, including pro wrestler Zilla Fatu. Umaga was the brother of Rikishi (Solafa Fatu), who is the father of Jimmy and Jey Uso. Umaga’s second brother, Samuel Fatu, also known as the Tonga Kid, is the father of Jacob Fatu.
Solo ended up making a surprise appearance on RAW and ended up helping LA Knight win his match. Solo was shown behind the barricade and he spiked Jimmy, leading to Knight’s win, which makes you wonder what Jacob’s message to his cousin was.
During a recent interview with WrestleZone, Jacob Fatu said that one of his biggest “what-if” scenarios was that he wished Umaga and Yokozuna (Rodney Anoa’i) were still alive to see their family’s success in wrestling with The Bloodline saga.
“I do have a what-if: what if my uncle Umaga and Yokozuna didn’t pass away?” he continued. “What if they would’ve been here to see their kids? What if they would’ve been here to see everything that the Bloodline and the Samoan dynasty that they had started, what they had built, to what it is now. So if it is what it is, it’ll probably be just them being alive. That’s about it.”
