Andre Chase says he had already decided to leave WWE when his contract expired

Former NXT talent Andre Chase says he had already decided to leave WWE when his contract expired at the beginning of 2027, revealing that he feels he may have “manifested my release.”

Reflecting on WrestleMania weekend, Chase admitted he was frustrated that it was “another WrestleMania that I’m not on,” and noted that “my contract was up at the beginning of next year and I was leaving anyway.”

After watching an independent wrestling match that inspired him, Chase recalled thinking, “That’s what I want to be doing. I want to be in front of these crowds wrestling the way I want to and do wrestling the way I think it should be.” He added that he wanted to wrestle without someone telling him, “don’t do that.”

The experience convinced him that “when my contract is up, I’m going to go do this,” and being home during WrestleMania weekend only reinforced that feeling. Chase said, “This isn’t what I dreamed of doing,” and made it clear he didn’t want to “collect a paycheck and sit on the sidelines.”
