NXT Title Contract Signing Gets Intense Before Great American Bash

NXT Title Contract Signing Gets Intense Before Great American Bash

The Great American Bash is coming up soon, and fans will have a big show on their hands. That includes a few matches that received a big spotlight during the June 23 episode of the show.

The NXT Women’s Championship will be on the line at NXT Great American Bash when Lola Vice defends her title against Kendal Grey. Vice won the championship at Stand & Deliver by defeating Jacy Jayne and Grey in a Triple Threat Match, while Grey earned another shot after continuing her rise through the NXT women’s division. That match is not the only big title match on the show.

The NXT Championship was set to be front and center at NXT Great American Bash when Tony D’Angelo was set to defend his title against Naraku. The challenger earned the opportunity after defeating Mason Rook in a No. 1 Contender’s Match, setting up one of the biggest matches of his NXT career.

This match has been building for weeks as Naraku has targeted D’Angelo and made it clear that he wants to be the man who ends The Don’s reign. Then this week on NXT, Tony D’Angelo was taken out with a fireball that the former Evil rigged on the contract. Tony was taken off in an ambulance after that.

This week’s show ended with Robert Stone making an announcement about who will take on Naraku this week. Then Mason Rook came out to claim the match. After that, The Vanity Project came out to fight him off. Then it was made clear that Tony D’Angelo will still be Naraku’s opponent at the Great American Bash. Things were taken up to a whole new level during that contract signing, because Tony D has proved once again that he will stop at nothing to defend his NXT Title.

NXT Great American Bash takes place on Sunday, June 28, 2026, from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. The event starts at 7 p.m. ET and will air live on The CW in the United States, with additional streaming options available internationally.
