Chasing 116 run target, The New Zealand Women’s team had a fine start to their innings, where their opener scored 49 runs in just 7.3 overs before they lost their first wicket.
New Zealand lost their first wicket in the form of Suzie Bates, who got out by scoring 17 runs in 22 balls. After this first wicket, their star batter Georgia Plimmer was partnered with all-rounder Amelia Kerr and took the score to 95 in 14.5 overs before Georgia Plimmer got out scoring 53 runs in 44 balls.
After the dismissal of Georgia Plimmer, their skipper Sophie Devine joined Amelia Kerr and led New Zealand to the second victory of the tournament, during the process Amelia Kerr scored 34 runs in 31 balls while skipper Sophie Devine scored 13 runs in 8 balls. The New Zealand Women’s Team chased down the target by scoring 118 runs for losing 2 wickets in 17.3 overs.
