Juventus keen on Malo Gusto

Malo Gusto looks to be the odd one out at Chelsea now – but the club will struggle to sell him at their current asking price.

Chelsea have all but completed their first (new) transfer of the summer – Marco Palestra will be joining from Atalanta for an initial €50m fee.

He’s a right wing back, meaning he’s already in competition with Reece James, Chelsea’s captain and perhaps their best player on his day. There’s also Malo Gusto, who played 49 games last season as James regular deputy.

So what gives? Most sources expect Gusto to go, and there was major talk yesterday after the Palestra deal was announced that Man City could bid for him,

That seems very possible – Enzo Maresca used Gusto a lot at Chelsea, and is taking over at City. But TuttoMercatoWeb in Italy today claim that Juventus have also been interested.

They mention the same insane £75m asking price by Chelsea that was reported yesterday. We have major doubts that City would pay that – and Juventus certainly wouldn’t. In fact, the Old Lady’s maximum offer is probably higher than Chelsea’s lowest acceptable offer.

In other news…

Palestra’s old director of football is clearly a big fan of his, and thinks he will be a big hit in the Premier League with his hard running and dribbling out wide.

The same source also revealed the full details of the deal a pretty juicy one for Atalanta, who got far more than they bargained for.
