India A will travel to Oman to take part in the Emerging Teams Asia Cup. The squad was announced recently. Tilak Varma will captain the side. Here, we take a look at India A’s strongest playing 11 for Emerging Teams Asia Cup T20 2024.
India A squad for Emerging Teams Asia Cup T20 2024: Tilak Varma (c), Abhishek Sharma, Ayush Badoni, Nishant Sindhu, Anuj Rawat, Prabhsimran Singh, Nehal Wadhera, Anshul Kamboj, Hrithik Shokeen, Aaqib Khan, Vaibhav Arora, Rasikh Salam, Sai Kishore, Rahul Chahar.
Openers: Abhishek Sharma and Prabhsimran Singh (WK)
Abhishek Sharma and Prabhsimran Singh will be the openers in India A’s strongest playing 11 for Emerging Teams Asia Cup T20 2024. The Punjab openers know each other very well and will also complement each other well. Hence, they will be the automatic choices here.
Middle-Order: Tilak Varma (C), Ayush Badoni and Anuj Rawat
The squad is actually light on genuine middle-order batters. Barring Tilak Varma and Ayush Badoni, the team does not have too many reliable options. Anuj Rawat did well in the Delhi Premier League and could be an option in the finishing department, a role he has done for RCB before.
All-Rounders: Nehal Wadhera, R Sai Kishore and Rasikh Salam
The squad has some fine all-rounders but they may not be too much reliable as they are young. Hence, Nehal Wadhera and Sai Kishore will have a big task. Sai must step up with the bat, as well. Rasikh Salam will be an exciting option, although you should not expect too much with the bat from him.
Bowlers: Rahul Chahar, Vaibhav Arora and Anshul Kamboj
Rahul Chahar will be the lead leg spinner for the side. It is a chance for him to do well and get a better IPL contract. Vaibhav Arora will open the bowling while Anshul Kamboj will be yet another exciting option in the pace department.
