Former WWE star Kairi Sane may have been released earlier this year, but she is still showing up in WWE-related content for the time being.
Fans recently noticed Sane appearing in the WWE SuperCard mobile game despite her departure from WWE following the company’s post-WrestleMania 42 roster cuts in April.
During a recent Fightful Select Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp addressed the situation after being asked why Sane was still featured in the game. Sane technically remains under WWE contract until her non-compete clause expires next month. After that, her deal will officially come to an end.
WWE sources have confirmed that Sane’s exit is permanent, adding that there are currently no plans for the company to bring her back once her contractual obligations expire.
Before her release, Sane had been involved in an ongoing Damage CTRL storyline alongside Asuka and IYO SKY. However, those plans were scrapped after Sane’s departure. The angle effectively came to an end following IYO SKY’s victory over Asuka at Backlash, after which Asuka turned babyface before taking an extended hiatus from WWE programming.
