Jason Robertson turns down a contract offer from the Seattle Kraken
Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet: Multiple sources have said that the Seattle Kraken were given permission to speak with Jason Robertson‘s agent, Andy Scott. The Kraken reportedly offer Robertson an eight-year contract with a salary cap hit of $15 million. Robertson declined the offer.
The two sides may have agreed on the outline of trade before the Kraken were granted permission. The trade was believed to include the No. 7 pick. The Stars, Kraken, or Scott would comment.
It’s believed that the Stars and Robertson are at least $2 million apart.
Pierre LeBrun: “Further to what @FriedgeHNIC reported on Jason Robertson rejecting a contract offer from Seattle, the Stars now are circling back to teams that had shown interest in the winger. Plus still keeping dialogue open on trying to sign him. Trying to keep all avenues open.”
NHL Rumors: Nikishin, Blues, Sabres, Hellebuyck, Stars, and Robertson
David Pagnotta: “We mentioned in DFO Insider a couple hours ago that some teams were considering $14M-$15M offers for Robertson. Seattle went for it, again – remember they were going to give Panarin over $14M before he selected LA this season.”
The St. Louis Blues and New York Rangers in trade talks with the Anaheim Ducks about Mason McTavish
Frank Seravalli: Sources have said that the Anaheim Ducks and New York Rangers are discussing forward Mason McTavish, and are in the advanced stages. A deal isn’t done, but it’s worth watching.
Pierre LeBrun: Have heard that the St. Louis Blues and NY Rangers have offers for Mason McTavish.
Vincent Z. Mercogliano: “Remember, Blues own four first-round picks this year: 11, 15, 16 and 29. Have to imagine at least one is involved here.
(FWIW- I’d be stunned if #NYR gave up 5 for McTavish, but it makes sense if 26 is part of the package on the table.)”
NHL Rumors: Zach Werenski, Roman Josi, Mason McTavish, and the Vancouver Canucks
Mollie Walker: “I’ve seen Vincent Trocheck has been ruled out, FWIW It doesn’t sound like Alexis Lafrenière is part of the #NYR offer either. I thought it might be possible because I’ve heard Drury would only be willing to part with No. 13 for a comparable player/contract.”
