I feel like home is more about people than a place, so home for me is wherever my family are.
Where do you stay in London?
I stay in the Battersea area. I love it because it’s next to the river, so I have a view, and it’s really calm and chill.
Where would you recommend for a first date?
I love Battersea Park, but I think that’s a question for my date.
Which shops do you rely on?
I love visiting Selfridges and always stop by the New Balance store on Oxford Street when I’m in town. It’s central and it’s fun to check out different styles you don’t see back at home. Similarly, the Miu Miu store on Bond Street — they always have great stuff.
What’s the best meal you’ve had?
One of my most memorable London meals was with my parents at Dishoom. I love Indian food and sharing that with them was amazing. There are so many options on the menu and the portion sizes are perfect.
What would you do if you were Mayor for the day?
I would want to have full access to Buckingham Palace. I watch The Crown and would love the chance to go inside, although I’m not sure if the Mayor has that much power… I’d also like to make the Thames swimmable. Every time I walk past it, I want to jump in, but it’s probably best I don’t.
Who is the most iconic Londoner?
Where do you go to have fun?
I love to ride the Tube. You can probably catch me riding the Tube by myself 24/7.
What’s the best thing a cabbie has ever said to you?
“You’re handling pressure better than most adults do, and you’re still so young.” I thought that was sweet and it stuck with me.
Most of my workouts happen at the courts or in the gym during tournaments, but when I have a little extra time, I love getting outside and walking around the city. It’s a great way to move and clear my mind.
Where do you let your hair down?
I like to explore different neighbourhoods and find great foodie spots. London has such an amazing mix of cultures. One of my favourite ways to unwind is having a good meal with family or friends.
Who do you call when you want to have fun?
Usually my family. We can make anything fun, whether it’s trying a new restaurant or sightseeing. When you travel as much as I do, having familiar people around makes every city feel a little bit more like home.
What’s your biggest extravagance?
My house is my biggest extravagance.
What’s your London secret?
Seven Dials Market — I guess it’s not really a secret, but I love that they have everything you could possibly want.
What are you up to for work?
I’m excited to debut my next New Balance x Miu Miu kit at Wimbledon this week. There is so much history and tradition at the tournament and I love being able to bring my own style and personality to the court. Being able to pursue creative opportunities like these alongside my tennis is really special.

My mom, dad and grandmother are definitely my heroes. They are very selfless and are supportive in every way. My professional hero is Serena Williams. She’s an inspiration on and off the court and has pushed the boundaries and shown what is possible in our sport.
I love stuffed animals. I have about 30 in my house, and some in my parents’ house, too…
What’s your favourite work of art in London?
“If I were Mayor for the day, I would want to have full access to Buckingham Palace. I watch The Crown and would love to go inside”
What’s your favourite beauty spot?
The Nailist in Shepherd’s Bush. Every time I want my nails done for Wimbledon, I go to them. They give me the best manicure.
Where do you go when you need to find headspace?
Anywhere by the river. I love to sit out and look at the water.
