Shakur Stevenson has given his take on Conor Benn’s ability and where he stacks up at world level.
Benn and Stevenson have gone back-and-forth a number of times over the last few years.
The pair first clashed when they featured together on The Ariel Helwani Show last July.
They discussed and verbally agreed to a fight at 147lbs – Benn’s natural weight class.
After multiple clashes with fighters around world level, such as Stevenson, Rolando Romero and Ryan Garcia, many have questioned where Benn stacks up against some of the current world champions.
Stevenson spoke to Daily Mail Boxing and gave his verdict.
“I don’t think he’s that good. Like, he’s OK. What I will say from a positive standpoint, he’s getting better.
“Yeah, probably when he’s like 40. If he sticks with it, when he gets to 40 he may be able to get to our level.”
‘The Destroyer’ was back in action in April on the undercard of Tyson Fury vs Arslanbek Makhmudov.

He picked up a comfortable points decision over former world champion Regis Prograis across 10 rounds.
The fight with Prograis marked his first at welterweight in over two years.
He fought at middleweight twice in 2025, facing long-term rival Chris Eubank Jr. He lost the first fight before avenging the defeat in November.
‘The Destroyer’ looks set to return in September against WBC welterweight champion Ryan Garcia, as he currently sits as the number one mandatory challenger.
‘King Ry’ claimed the pair would collide on September 12, but Benn has recently cast doubt over those comments while speaking at a public Zuffa Boxing event.

“I haven’t spoken to him.
“He’s gone missing.
“So all I need him to do is sign the contract so we can get the fight locked in and give everyone here one hell of a fight, and a potential fight of the year.”
Stevenson continued to reiterate that a fight with Benn is of interest to him.
“Yeah, I would love a Conor Benn fight. It’s a great fight to have, but we’ll see.”
