Former Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has picked his all-time India-West Indies T20 XI in a recent post on the Los Angeles Knight Riders’ X handle. The former West Indies star sparked debate by leaving out modern T20 stars Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav from his combined playing XI.
India have won three T20 World Cup titles, while the West Indies have lifted the trophy twice. The Men in Blue, led by Shreyas Iyer, are currently touring Ireland for a two-match T20I series. Meanwhile, the West Indies are hosting Sri Lanka in a multi-format series featuring Tests, ODIs, and T20Is.
Dwayne Bravo Picks Gayle, Rohit and Kohli in His All-Time India-West Indies T20 XI
Dwayne Bravo picked Chris Gayle and Rohit Sharma as his opening pair, with Virat Kohli at No. 3 in his all-time India-West Indies T20 XI. Gayle is one of the greatest T20 batters, scoring 14,562 runs and 22 centuries in 463 matches.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are among the highest run-scorers in T20I history. Rohit has scored 4,231 runs, while Kohli has amassed 4,188 runs. Both retired from T20I cricket after helping India win the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Bravo selected Nicholas Pooran, Kieron Pollard, and Andre Russell to form a powerful middle order. The trio has enjoyed remarkable success in franchise cricket and international T20s over the years.
Pooran recently completed 10,000 T20 runs and has scored four centuries in the format. Russell has established himself as one of the best T20 all-rounders, scoring 9,652 runs and taking 512 wickets in 592 matches, while Pollard is the highest run-scorer in T20 history with 14,589 runs.
Dwayne Bravo Leaves Out Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav From His All-Time T20 XI
Dwayne Bravo excluded Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav despite their success in T20 cricket. He picked former India captain MS Dhoni at No. 7 as the wicketkeeper in his all-time India-West Indies T20 XI.
Dhoni led India to the inaugural ICC T20 World Cup title in 2007 and captained Chennai Super Kings to five IPL trophies. Bravo enjoyed much of his IPL success under Dhoni’s captaincy and won multiple titles with CSK.
Bravo picked himself and Sunil Narine at Nos. 8 and 9 to strengthen the all-round department. Narine and Bravo are among the most successful bowlers in T20 history, with 632 and 631 wickets, respectively, across franchise and international cricket.
Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar completed the pace attack. Bumrah played a key role in India’s 2026 T20 World Cup triumph and won the Player of the Tournament award, while Bhuvneshwar impressed during IPL 2026 by taking 28 wickets as Royal Challengers Bengaluru retained the title.
Bravo named former India batter Suresh Raina as his Impact Player. Raina and Bravo shared several successful years at Chennai Super Kings.
