Sable and Trish Stratus Talk Marriage, Wrestling Skills» TWNP-Wrestling News

Many women played a pivotal role in what became the Women’s Evolution. Women headlining events are commonplace now. Even the latest episode of SmackDown will see two women and a debut in the Main Event (get spoilers here). Nonetheless, the women today wouldn’t be where they’re at without some of the OG Divas. While Trish Stratus is typically given her flowers, Sable seems to fall to the wayside in fans’ memories. Now, some vintage footage of Sable and Trish Stratus exchanging those flowers has been uncovered. Here are some rare videos of Trish Stratus and Sable sharing their thoughts about one another.

Sable and Trish Stratus Footage Goes Viral

It’s pretty common for old wrestling footage to go viral. Random matches like The Great Khali vs. Chris Candido and must-see moments like Brutus Beefcake as Furface are bound to make the internet rounds when they’re unearthed.

Sable and Trish Stratus are two former WWE legends who never shared a ring together. However, the two former WWE Women’s Champions briefly shared a locker room when Sable returned to WWE in 2003. The two were even models in WWE Divas: South of the Border together.

From Trish Stratus’ official website

As you can see, Trish Status and Sable weren’t afraid to hang out in bikinis. They also weren’t afraid to talk about each other. In fact, an old clip of Sable talking about Trish during this Divas shoot was used in an episode of WWE Network’s Monday Night War. Now, those words have gone viral.

Sable Is Impressed by Trish Stratus

There are many horror stories that have circulated about Sable’s attitude during the Attitude Era. However, there is a soft side to the master of the Grind that no one talks about. Only ODB has recently stepped up to give Sable praise for her locker room etiquette.

Nonetheless, Sable believed that Trish Stratus was changing the game:

“She’s very physical. She takes bumps like no other woman I’ve ever seen, and she has the ability to elevate the women she works with.”

These kind words weren’t a one-off. After Sable left WWE, she maintained her website renamero.net. Now, the website is overrun by women’s wrestling fans. However, Trish Stratus did clip a past compliment from the ex-wife of MarcMero.

Sable answered fan questions after her WWE departure, where she hinted at having some Stratusfaction:

“I am very high on Trish. She is carrying what’s ever left of women’s wrestling in the WWE. She is very over in her segments, and is a great wrestler. I think I could put up a fight, but she would probably win right now since I have so much ring rust, and I rarely wrestle when she wrestles all the time.”

We never did get that Sable vs. Trish Stratus match. In 2026, we probably never will. After all, if Sable didn’t come after Trish for sharing her thoughts on Rena’s marriage, probably nothing would get her to lace the leather boots once more.

Trish Stratus Comments on Sable’s Divorce

While Trish Stratus and Sable didn’t share a locker room for a long time, it was enough time for the lifelong Canadian to develop an opinion on the former Diva’s marriage. Old footage has also come to light where Trish Stratus gave Sable some relationship advice.

The future WWE Hall of Famer was on Off the Record when host Michael Landsberg asked Trish Stratus if Rena and Marc Mero should get back together. At first, Trish tried to keep it concise with an “I do not.” However, the sports host pressed the future multi-time Women’s Champion for more.

So, Trish gave Sable some sound advice:

“Okay, Sable, this is for you. You’re better than him. Don’t go back to him. Don’t delay.”

It seems like Sable took her advice. What Trish probably didn’t know was that Sable herself was fixing to become a Canadian citizen. Rena left Marc Mero to start a relationship with Trish’s colleague, Brock Lesnar.

Sable and Brock Lesnar are still together today, with the former Women’s Champion being spotted during WrestleMania 42 festivities. Maybe we will see Sable once more this year, as Brock Lesnar is rumored to retire at SummerSlam 2026 in Minneapolis.
