Packers tight end Tucker Kraft is about to cash in.
The playmaker who is already Jordan Love’s favorite target and a focal point of head coach Matt LaFleur’s scheme, is about to become one of the highest-paid tight ends in the sport, if not completely reset the market.
Packers’ Tucker Kraft could break the bank
Over at PackersWire, reporter Mark Oldacres points out that Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts’ contract, could be the benchmark for Kraft’s negotiations, and there’s a chance that Green Bay’s star may even exceed it.
“It is safe to assume he will earn more than Pitts,” Oldacres writes of Kraft. “But if he does not hit or exceed the $19 million mark, it will be interesting to see whether he is closer to that AAV, or Pitts at $15 million. There is some wiggle room there for both parties to negotiate with.
“Expect the Packers to follow their usual four-year structure, and if they construct the deal in the same way they traditionally do, his cap hit in the first year of the extension (2027) will be right around half of the AAV. For example, a $10m cap hit in year one of a deal paying $20 million in AAV.”
Kraft’s impact on the Packers’ offense is undeniable, catching 113 passes for 1,551 yards and 15 touchdowns through his first 42 games, but will be working his way back from a torn ACL this summer ahead of the 2026 season kicking off.
There’s a chance, though, that the next time Kraft puts on a Packers helmet, he’ll be doing so as one of the highest-paid tight ends in the league.
