WTA Rankings Report – As of June 29, 2026 – Open Court

Two veterans take titles this week, the week before the big one.

Madison Keys ends a title drought that had lasted since the 2025 Australian Open title.

And Karolina Muchova wins her second big title of the year, after having won just one in 2019, her entire career to this point. And she’s back in the top 10.

Karolina Muchova (CZE): No. 11 =============> No. 9
(Muchova wins Bad Homburg, over Naomi Osaka in the final; Osaka retired early in the second set. It’s only the third title of her career. But it’s her second big title of the season, after Doha over the winter.  She could meet Bianca Andreescu in the second round at Wimbledon).

Madison Keys (USA): No. 27 =============> No. 22
(Keys wins Eastbourne – her first title since taking the Australian Open in 2025. She meets qualifier Kayla Day in the first round of Wimbledon, and is in the Amanda Anisimova section).

Jelena Ostapenko (LAT): No. 35 =============> No. 31
(Ostapenko moves up – and would have been seeded at Wimbledon had these rankings been used. She’s also been busy with a new line of merch, and just took a holiday in Greece, where she celebrated her birthday. She’s adulting very well. She plays Harriet Dart in the first round of Wimbledon and could meet Aryna Sabalenka in round 3).

Wang Xinyu (CHN): No. 52 =============> No. 39
(Wang is back inside the top 50 – inside the top 40 – after dropping out for awhile. She makes the Bad Homburg semifinals and gets Cocciaretto in the first round of Wimbledon).

Elena-Gabriela Ruse (ROU): No. 105 =============> No. 71
(Ruse qualified and made the semifinals in Bad Homburg to get back into the top 100. She gets Caty McNally in the first round of Wimbledon, not an easy one).

Tatjana Maria (GER): No. 112 =============> No. 96
(After a brief drop out of the top 100, the 38-year-old is back in after making the final in Eastbourne. She meets Putintseva in the first round at the AELTC).

Zheng Qinwen (CHN): No. 153 =============> No. 138
(A move in the right direction for the 23-year-old, who plays No. 32 seed Katerina Siniakova in the first round at Wimbledon in a tough draw for both).

–

Petra Marcinko (CRO) (No. 47)
Taylah Preston (AUS) (No. 117)
Ayla Aksu (TUR) (No. 210)
Dayeon Back (KOR) (No. 264)

Victoria Mboko (CAN): No. 9 =============> No. 10
(Mboko is bumped down a spot with Muchova’s title. And she’ll have a few players on her heels to move her out of the top 10 after Wimbledon, notably Belinda Bencic and Linda Noskova. Mboko will miss Wimbledon. Although she is in town, and showed up at the IMG swag house with a brace on her left knee).

Jasmine Paolini (ITA): No. 14 =============> No. 17
(It’s been a tough year for Paolini, who meets American lefty qualifier Robin Montgomery in the first round of Wimbledon).

Maria Sakkari (GRE): No. 39 =============> No. 43
(Sakkari slips out of the top 40, after working so hard to get back in. She’s not far from jumping right in again, though, and meets No. 24 seed Clara Tauson in the first round of Wimbledon. We actually like her draw quite a bit).

Maya Joint (AUS): No. 43 =============> No. 87
(A year ago, Joint was a rising 19-year-old who won Eastbourne. Fast forward, and she’s dealt with injury all year, has fallen in the rankings – and draws Serena Williams in the first round of Wimbledon).

Varvara Gracheva (FRA): No. 73 =============> No. 88
(Gracheva is out with injury, and will miss Wimbledon. She hasn’t played since Miami).

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (RUS): No. 114 =============> No. 128
(Unclear where the 34-year-old is at, at this stage. A year ago she was a semifinalist at Eastbourne. This year, she’s 2-8 and hasn’t played since retiring in the first round of qualifying in Rome. In 2025, she didn’t play after the US Open).

Beatriz Haddad Maia (BRA): No. 117 =============> No. 134
(What a fall for the former No. 10, who has just gone into the abyss. She has played 13 events at the WTA or Grand Slam level this year – and hasn’t won a single match. It’s crazy. And She plays qualifier Maria Timofeeva (now of Uzbekistan) in the first round at Wimbledon).
