Val Venis is still not letting Cody Rhodes off the hook after Night of Champions, and this time, he dragged Disco Inferno into it.
After already ripping Cody for losing the Undisputed WWE Championship to Sami Zayn at Night of Champions, Venis went back on Twitter and took another swing at the American Nightmare. This time, he dragged Disco Inferno into the mess and claimed even Disco on his worst day would handle Cody.
“Disco Inferno at his worst, would mop the stadium floors with the Donkey Cud Cody Rhodes.”
And because apparently the tweet itself was not enough, Venis also posted a photoshopped image of Cody’s head on a donkey’s body with the line, “It’s a nightmare… braying like a donkey.” So yeah, subtlety was not invited.
That Disco mention is not random either. Cody and Disco have history. Back in 2018, Disco criticized Cody Rhodes for trying to impress Dave Meltzer instead of knowing how to “work,” and Cody absolutely cooked him in response in what’s become a generational tweet.
“Stop. You know nothing. You have drawn 0 dollars. No fan has ever left a show thinking about you. You were lucky to be a juiced up double-lifer ‘over with the boys’ type in an era where you hid in plain sight coasting on others’ success. Couldn’t hang then, can’t get booked now.”
Now Venis is basically using that old beef to poke Cody all over again, right after Rhodes lost the title. He had already called Cody an “absolute loser” for losing to Sami, and this new post makes it pretty clear he is not done trolling him.
Cody has not responded yet, which may be the smartest move here. Venis is throwing insults, donkey memes, and old Disco Inferno drama into one post, and the whole thing feels designed to get a reaction.
What do you think about Val Venis going after Cody Rhodes again? Should Cody clap back, or let this one die online? Let us know in the comments below.
