The ATP recently launched ACES: The ATP No. 1 Club, a new four-part docuseries offering an inside look at the players who have reached the very top of men’s professional tennis.

Only 29 men in history have reached the ATP World No. 1 ranking. For the first time, ACES: The ATP No. 1 Club brings many of their stories together, taking audiences inside the moments, rivalries and defining decisions that shaped their journeys to the top of the sport.

The series premieres today on Prime Video in the United States and on 5 in the United Kingdom on June 29, with an international rollout across leading broadcasters and streaming platforms planned in the coming months.

Featuring exclusive interviews and rare access, the series spans generations of champions, from John McEnroe, Björn Borg and Jimmy Connors to Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, as well as current stars Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.

Across four episodes, the series combines archive footage with present-day, behind-the-scenes access, offering a unique perspective on what it takes to reach World No. 1 — and the challenge of staying there.

“Reaching World No. 1 is the ultimate achievement in our sport, and having experienced life on Tour I understand how much that journey demands,” said Andrea Gaudenzi, ATP Chairman. “Only a small group of players have lived it. By bringing these stories to a global audience, this series gives fans a deeper understanding of what it takes to reach the top. It also helps us showcase the sport at its best, celebrate its greatest champions and connect new fans with the players and moments that have defined the game.”

Pat Dimon, the Emmy Award-winning director of ACES: The ATP No. 1 Club, said the project brought together some of the greatest players in tennis history to tell the story of one of the sport’s rarest achievements.

“It was a privilege and lifelong dream to meet and chat with so many of the greatest tennis players in the history of the sport to tell the story of how they achieved an honour that only 29 men have ever accomplished, the ATP No. 1 Ranking,” Dimon said. “Hearing from these compelling athletes about their fiercest rivalries and historic matches, viewers will get a first-person account of their mental and physical journey to the top and the battle to stay there.”

The series is produced by BrightNorth USA, in association with the ATP, ATP Media and Front Office Sports Studios, and is directed by Pat Dimon. The docuseries is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

Initial broadcasters and streaming platforms airing the series include Prime Video in the United States, 5 in the United Kingdom, Bell Media in Canada, SkyShowtime across Europe, Now TV Hong Kong in Hong Kong and Macau, and JioHotstar in India.

The docuseries is part of the broader ATP No. 1 Club platform, launched in 2024 by the ATP to celebrate and promote one of the most exclusive achievements in sport.

Alongside the new series, the ATP has partnered with global publisher Phaidon to create the book ATP No. 1 Club: Icons of Men’s Tennis, launching later this year and profiling all 29 World No. 1 players through archival imagery and in-depth storytelling.

The ATP No. 1 Club also extends into premium hospitality, launched by ATP Experiences earlier this year and now available at the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin, where guests can access money-can’t-buy moments including opportunities to meet former World No. 1 players in the PIF ATP Rankings.
