A Cleveland Browns team that hasn’t yet named either 2025 rookie Shedeur Sanders or veteran Deshaun Watson its 2026 Week 1 starting quarterback acquired some weapons for its passing attack when it selected KC Concepcion in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft and fellow wide receiver Denzel Boston in the draft’s second round.
Neither Concepcion nor Boston knows who will be throwing passes their way when the Browns open the regular season with a matchup at the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sept. 13. Nevertheless, Concepcion made it known during a recent appearance on NFL Network’s “The Insiders” program that he isn’t lacking confidence regarding what the Cleveland offense could achieve this fall.
Browns passing attack “can be dangerous” in 2026
“I think that this new wide receiver room, it can be dangerous,” Concepcion said about the Browns, as Kevin Patra of the NFL’s website shared on Monday. “Everybody complements each other. Everybody is a different receiver.”
For an article published on Monday, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN noted that “Concepcion made several plays during an offseason program that favors the passing game, showing off not only his elusiveness but also his ability to make tough catches at times.”
As of Monday afternoon, DraftKings Sportsbook had Concepcion listed 10th among the betting favorites at +3000 odds to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award for the upcoming season. Boston was next on the list at +3500 odds.
How KC Concepcion feels about the Browns’ playbook
First-year Browns head coach Todd Monken is an advertised offensive guru who will find himself attempting to either resurrect Watson’s career or help Sanders take a giant leap from where the 2025 fifth-round draft pick was in his development this past January. According to a Monday report, Watson “is very much the favorite to end up starting in Week 1.”
Meanwhile, Concepcion noted during the show segment that he is “very comfortable” and “confident” as it pertains to his ability to fully grasp Monken’s playbook.
“I know what I can do,” Concepcion added. “Playbook-wise, the first two weeks, I had to learn it, I had to get used to the speed of the game. But honestly, now I’m all ready, I know the playbook, and I’m just ready to play.”
It remains to be seen how many passes Concepcion will receive from Sanders and Watson during practices leading up to Cleveland’s preseason opener at the Chicago Bears on Aug. 15.
