NFL Insider Doubles Down On Bold Green Bay Packers Super Bowl Prediction

The Green Bay Packers continue to receive strong backing from Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, who has once again placed them among the NFL’s top Super Bowl hopefuls. It marks the second year in a row that Breer has made that case, with his outlook remaining largely unchanged.

In his latest offseason breakdown of all 32 teams entering the 2026 season, Breer identified the Green Bay Packers as one of the NFL’s legitimate championship threats, placing them in the same tier as the Seattle Seahawks. His outlook depends on Green Bay’s young nucleus taking another step forward, a belief he also expressed last offseason. With most of the team’s foundation still intact, Breer sees no reason to back away from that prediction.

“It’s a talented roster,” wrote the NFL expert.

“So the question is whether guys such as Christian Watson, Matthew Golden, Jordan Morgan, Lukas Van Ness, Devonte Wyatt, and Edgerrin Cooper can take their games to another level.”

Are the Green Bay Packers due for a Super Bowl appearance?

Whether Green Bay can reach another level will largely depend on the progress of its young playmakers. Christian Watson has already shown the game-breaking speed and big-play ability that made him a first round caliber talent, while Golden established himself last season as one of the NFC’s rising wide receivers.

The Packers are also counting on players such as Jordan Morgan and Lukas Van Ness to take significant steps forward. Both have the potential to become foundational pieces at their respective positions, and if several of Green Bay’s young contributors make that leap together, the team could emerge as one of the NFL’s toughest opponents once the postseason arrives.

In Breer’s view, Green Bay’s outlook will also depend heavily on the progress of Micah Parsons and Tucker Kraft as they recover from knee injuries. Their ability to return at full speed could play a major role in determining how far the Packers go this season.

Parsons, in particular, provides an elite level of impact that simply cannot be replaced, giving the defense a difference maker capable of shifting momentum on any snap.
