Val Venis is still going after Cody Rhodes, and now he is fantasy-booking himself into an MMA cage with him.
After already mocking Cody over his Night of Champions loss to Sami Zayn and dragging Disco Inferno into the mess, Venis jumped back on Twitter with another shot at the American Nightmare. This time, he brought up Cody’s high school wrestling background, compared it to CM Punk’s MMA attempt, and claimed Cody still would not survive a real fight with him.
“Donkey Cud Cody Rhodes has a couple of state championships from his high school days. That’s already a better wrestling pedigree than CM Punk had before trying MMA.”
Then Venis took it even further, saying Cody’s wrestling trophies would not mean much if the cage door shut behind him with “The Big Valbowski.”
“But lock ‘Cud-Chew’ Cody in an MMA cage with The Big Valbowski, Val Venis, and the Cody fantasy ends the moment the door closes.”
Venis also claimed Cody Rhodes’ confidence is bigger than his actual ability, keeping the insult train rolling after days of posts aimed at the American Nightmare.
“Wrestling trophies won’t prepare him for surviving a real fight. There is a word for someone like Cud-Chew Cody with confidence weighted far more than his abilities.”
And because a normal tweet apparently was not enough, Venis also included an AI-generated image of himself and Cody inside a cage with a “tale of the tape” graphic. So yeah, he is not exactly being subtle about wanting attention from this one.
This comes after Venis previously claimed Disco Inferno at his worst would mop the floor with Cody, while also posting a donkey-themed Photoshop of Rhodes. Cody has not responded to any of it so far, which might be the smartest play, because Venis clearly keeps throwing bigger bait every time.
At this point, Val Venis has gone from mocking Cody’s title loss to imagining an MMA cage fight with him. Cody still has not bitten, but Venis is clearly trying everything he can to get a reaction.
What do you think about Val Venis’ latest shot at Cody Rhodes? Should Cody respond, or keep ignoring him? Let us know in the comments below.
