CADEX, a leading brand of high-performance cycling components, introduced the new Max GXR WheelSystem and GXR Tyre, expanding its lineup of race-focused products with a complete system engineered for gravel racing.
Designed for riders pushing higher speeds across increasingly technical terrain, the new Max GXR WheelSystem combines aerodynamic efficiency, transmission stiffness, impact durability, and confident handling in an integrated package weighing just 1320g with tape and valves. It’s engineered as a complete rim, spoke, and hub system for refined gravel race performance across constantly changing surfaces.
“With the Max GXR, we focused on the demands of modern gravel racing, where riders need efficiency, control, and durability at increasingly high speeds,” said Jeff Schneider, Global Head of Product for CADEX. “By engineering the wheel as a complete integrated system, we were able to improve stiffness, stability, and impact resistance while maintaining the responsive ride quality and efficiency riders expect from CADEX.”
At the system’s core, a lightweight 50mm carbon rim profile pairs with integrated CADEX Super Aero carbon spokes and a unified hub structure to function as a single aerodynamic unit, reducing turbulence at the wheel center and improving airflow across the wheel-tyre interface. Wind tunnel testing confirms a total system gain of 4.61 watts versus the CADEX AR 35 — combining a 3.74-watt reduction in aerodynamic drag and a 0.87-watt reduction in rotational drag across a broad range of yaw angles.
A wide 25mm hookless inner rim width supports larger-volume gravel tyres at lower pressures, expanding the contact patch to boost traction, control, and rolling efficiency across rough terrain. The rims use Wide Guard technology, featuring reinforced 5mm sidewalls engineered to withstand impacts and resist pinch flats, adding durability without the weight penalty. A precision-reinforced carbon layup places high-tensile fibers only where needed, while hidden titanium nipples and internal spoke tensioning maintain long-term structural integrity under repeated high-load conditions.
Dynamic Balanced Lacing balances spoke tension under pedaling and impact loads to deliver efficient power transfer, predictable handling, and immediate response, while the CADEX R3- C60 hub’s 60-tooth ratchet system provides fast, precise engagement to maintain momentum through accelerations and terrain transitions. The Max GXR also increases rear-wheel transmission stiffness by 24.8% and improves transmission stiffness-to-weight by 19.9% versus the CADEX AR 35.

New GXR Tyre
Designed to complement the Max GXR WheelSystem, the new GXR tyre delivers high-speed performance across mixed gravel terrain. A high-volume race profile, fast-rolling center tread, and refined shoulder geometry work together to reduce rolling resistance while maintaining predictable traction and control in variable conditions.
The GXR Tyre also features a 170 TPI casing for a supple ride feel, while CADEX Race Shield+ puncture protection and X-Shield reinforced sidewall construction provide durability and reliability in demanding gravel conditions.
Together, the Max GXR WheelSystem and GXR Tyre form a complete performance system for today’s gravel racing environments — where rolling efficiency, traction, impact protection, and control must perform simultaneously in challenging conditions.
The CADEX Max GXR WheelSystem and CADEX GXR Tyre will be available soon in select markets worldwide.
