Deepti bowled a fuller-length delivery on the middle and off-stump line, to which Plimmer looked to flick on the leg-side region but played her shot a tad early. The ball took the inside half of the willow and flew towards the midwicket region, where Radha was slightly deeper.
However, the fielder immediately ran towards the ball and dove in the air to extend her reach. She went with both hands towards the catch, and just when it was going down, Radha grabbed it and ensured that the ball didn’t pop out of her hands while going down by removing one hand from the ball.

She was slightly off balance after completing the catch but didn’t let the ball balloon out of her hands to give India their first wicket of the match. Plimmer was playing so well, and it required a special effort to cut her innings short; Radha deserved equal applause for showing terrific skills in a few seconds.
New Zealand lost three quick wickets after a steady start
After winning the toss, New Zealand opted to bat first and were off to a stable start. The openers – Georgia Plimmer and Suzie Bates – played their shots and put India bowlers under trouble straightaway.
The partnership was going well before Deepti brought the first breakthrough – thanks to a terrific catch from Radha – and India made a slight comeback in the game. They removed three batters in quick succession to bring things under control.
From 87/0, the Kiwis shrunk to 114/3, losing Georgia Plimmer (41), Suzie Bates (58), and Lauren Down (3) in quick successions. Deepti Sharma and Radha Yadav snared a wicket each, while Lauren was run out.
At the moment, New Zealand are 135/3 after the end of 29 overs, with Sophie Devine (25) and Brooke Halliday (6) at the crease. India will look to remove these two immediately and restrict New Zealand to as low a target as possible.
