Retained Gujarat Titans star scores brilliant Century Against Australia A just two days after IPL 2025 Retention Deadline

Recently Sai Sudharsan got retained by Gujarat Titans for ₹8.5 crore for IPL 2025

During an unoffiacial Test at Mackay, Queensland, Sai Sudharsan scored a century against Australia A, putting the Indian A team in a strong position. On the third day, he resumed his innings at 96 and reached his hundred in the fourth over of the day.

Recently retained by Gujarat Titans for ₹8.5 crore for IPL 2025, Sudharsan has shown good form and is expected to score heavily for his franchise in the upcoming season.

In India A’s second innings, Sudharsan came to the crease after the early loss of captain Ruturaj Gaikwad at just 11 runs. He reached his century in 192 balls but was clean-bowled shortly for 103. Although Abhimanyu Easwaran fell early, Sudharsan stood firm, building a solid 196-run partnership with Devdutt Padikkal. In the first innings, he scored 21 runs.

Sudharsan’s century came at a crucial time, as India A were trailing by 88 runs in the first innings and had lost two quick wickets in the second. Thanks to his hundred and Padikkal’s support, India A’s lead has now extended beyond 200 runs.

Sudharsan made his international debut last year against South Africa, scoring 127 runs in three ODIs, including two half-centuries. He has also been part of the T20 squad but has yet to play his first innings in the format.

India A’s 2nd Innings Ends at 312, Australia A Needs 225 to win

India A resumed Day 3 at 208/2, with Sai Sudharsan on 96* and Devdutt Padikkal on 80*. Sudharsan scored a century, reaching 103, and Padikkal contributed 88 before both were dismissed, sparking a mini-collapse. India A quickly slipped from 226/2 to 256/5 as they lost momentum. Middle-order batters Baba Indrajith, Ishan Kishan, and Nitish Reddy couldn’t convert their starts into big scores, and India A are eventually bowled out for 312, setting Australia A a target of 225.
