The cricketers KL Rahul and Dhruv Jurel, as per an article published on ESPN Cricinfo, have been asked to go to Australia earlier where they will represent India A against Australia A. The team has suffered a lot after the home Test series loss against New Zealand led, Rohit Sharma’s team has come under immense pressure. In the forthcoming Border Gavaskar Trophy, India has to play four Test matches in Australia and win all four Test matches so that the results of other teams do not affect the chances of reaching the final of the World Test Championship next year. Given those situations, the call to send KL Rahul and Dhruv Jurel ahead of time, seems to be more about panic.
“Rahul and Jurel are not. Which is also the point why it raises so much anxiety over the batting unit of India. If at this she thinks there is no or very little confidence in the batting, then I am saying quality should be. Another query is did India announce the playing eleven traveling to Australia a little ahead of time? I mean, they could have announced the team closer to the end of the New Zealand Test series. That could have ensured Sai Sudharsan’s inclusion into the Indian side since he went to Australia and batted well. Currently, he is not a part of the squad. ‘If you tell me Rahul or Sarfaraz for Australia, I would choose Rahul, especially since it is Sarfaraz who has just recently scored 150 against new zealand. And even between Jurel and Sarfaraz, i might still select even the former. I want Sarfaraz to perform, but the way he plays the game, i am not really apprehensive, but i am not a hundred percent sure that the approach will work well out there in Australia. The way he plays… runs maybe a bit difficult to come by with fast bowling of that nature. Perhaps that is why there was an early dispatch of Rahul and Jurel, more so if such a slump in form is not extended they could be in the playing 11,feels Aakash Chopra.”
