It has been a while since RCB had a Karnataka cricketer a permanent part of the playing XI. Vyshak V did that role but he could not be consistent. Knowledge of local conditions can be key and hence, in this regard, RCB could aim a few cricketers based out of the state. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three Karnataka cricketers RCB might target in IPL 2025 Mega Auctions.
1) KL Rahul
KL Rahul is in the market and will be one of the in-demand cricketers at the auctions. RCB will want to get him back to the side and not stopping there, they could also make him the skipper of the side.
At least on paper, KL Rahul ticks all the boxes that is needed by RCB. However, it could come down to how the management sees KL Rahul’s contributions as a batter to the side. If they are convinced by this, the franchise will surely go for the cricketer.
2) Prasidh Krishna
Prasidh Krishna is one of the Karnataka cricketers RCB might target in IPL 2025 Mega Auctions. It has been two years since he has played in the IPL. It won’t be a surprise if he resumes his IPL career at his home franchise.
Prasidh can operate with the new ball and can also be an enforcer. He can hit the deck hard and as we saw in IPL 2024, RCB likes such players. Hence, he could be a target for the side.
3) Abhinav Manohar
RCB will need a player with brute force in the middle order. Rajat Patidar is already there but the squad will need another option and of course, a few backups.
Abhinav Manohar is in excellent form and he is destructive against spin. He will be suitable for the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Many teams could go behind him but RCB might look to sign him also because he is a local cricketer.
