Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal will be donning the jersey of the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League after getting sold to the franchise for an enormous fee of INR 18 crore.
With this, Chahal has now become the most expensive spinner in IPL history. Earlier, the Indian spinner was shockingly released by the Rajasthan Royals (RR) ahead of the IPL auction.
Chennai Super Kings took the initiative to acquire him by starting the bidding, but soon it was PBKS and Lucknow Super Giants who were involved in a fiery bidding war.
When it looked like PBKS had finally got their man, Sunrisers Hyderabad also joined in the bidding. However, the Punjab-based franchise would finally manage to get the player’s services at a whopping fee of 18 crore.
This is the first spinner that the PBKS have added to the side and the third player that they have bought in the IPL 2025 mega auction.
