India win by 295 runs in Perth, hand Australia First-ever defeat at the venue

On Monday, November 25, Jasprit Bumrah has led the Indian team to victory in the opening Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. as India bundled out Australia for 104 and 238 for their two innings, the team eventually won the match by 295 runs.

The stand-in captain gave motivation to the team by himself making the numbers of 8/72 as India bowled out the hosts in 58.4 overs in their chase of 534 runs.

This victory pushed India back to the top of the World Test championship WTC) standings yet again, with 61.11 percentage points.

In the five-match Test series, India is currently at a 1-0 lead. Rohit Sharma will now take the leadership back as India will play the second Test, a Day/Night match, set to begin December 6 in Adelaide.

While Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, and especially Virat Kohli were the players who have had a heroic game in the second innings, it was the unbelievable skillset of Jasprit Bumrah for Australia’s first inning that became the foundation of this victory.

This victory is great in itself, but will be going to be of even more significance since India had recently come from a humiliating 3-0 Test series defeat to New Zealand at home.
