His spell ensured Tamil Nadu could only get to 90 runs in the first innings before getting bundled on the final delivery.
A Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) player bowled exceptionally well in his team’s latest Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy game. While he is mostly a batter with a reputation for hitting big shots, the player can also bowl a bit and has done well with the ball in patches.
Manoj Bhandage, acquired by RCB at his base price of INR 30 Lakhs, snared three wickets for Karnataka against Tamil Nadu earlier today. He conceded 19 runs in his four-over spell, bowling at a frugal economy rate of 4.75 to restrict Tamil Nadu batters.
He dismissed Shahrukh Khan (19), Rithik Easwaran (12), and Gurjapneet Singh (2) and was the second-best bowler of the game. His spell ensured Tamil Nadu could only get to 90 runs in the first innings before getting bundled on the final delivery.

For the unversed, Manoj Bhandage is a right-arm medium-pacer whose bowling has improved massively in recent times and has turned himself into a genuine all-rounder. His modified bowling returns were the main reason for RCB getting him back during the auction, for he was also with them in the previous season but didn’t get to feature in any fixture.
Karnataka beat Tamil Nadu by seven wickets in Indore
After winning the toss, Tamil Nadu opted to bat first, but the decision proved faulty as they lost too many wickets early in the innings. They were reduced to 7/4 at one stage, with Vasuki Koushik wreaking havoc with the new ball.
While Shahrukh Khan and Mohamed Ali tried stitching a partnership, they couldn’t last long, either. Varun Chakravarthy was the top-scorer, with 24 runs in 21 balls, including three boundaries and a maximum, at a strike rate of 114.29 as Tamil Nadu could only reach 90 runs.
During the chase, Karnataka were off to a flying start, as Manish Pandey (42) and Mayank Agarwal (30) added 76 runs for the opening wicket. Later, they lost two more wickets and were 81/3 in 10.2 overs.
However, the target was too small to trouble Karnataka. They chased down the total in only 11.3 overs with seven wickets to spare.
