CSK had a very good outing in the IPL 2025 Mega Auctions. It could have been better if they got all the players whom they bid for. The dynamics did not allow them to buy certain cricketers. 1) Glenn Maxwell
Considering the situation of his career, Maxi would have been ideal for CSK. At No.4, for the Chepauk Stadium, the Aussie all-rounder would have been a solid choice for CSK.
However, Punjab Kings wanted to buy the cricketer again. Hence, CSK could not sign Maxwell, who will start his career afresh at Punjab now.
2) Mohammed Shami was targeted by CSK in IPL 2025 Auctions
Shami is one of the famous players CSK targeted but could not sign in IPL 2025 Mega Auctions. The franchise was always going to target an experienced Indian pacer.
However, Shami’s price went up after a while. Hence, CSK could not afford to sign the cricketer. Khaleel Ahmed will now play for the franchise. Some other young pacers are also a part of the side.
3) Liam Livingstone
CSK needed a pace-hitter to finish the games. That is one weakness the squad has even now. Hence, it is not a surprise that they had gone after Livingstone.
The English all-rounder will now feature for RCB. He will be an important part of the side in the upcoming cycle, especially as the lead finisher.
