Unsold India Domestic Talent Smashes Gujarat Titans RTM at IPL 2025 Auction for 5 Boundaries in a Row [WATCH]

A talented young batter, who did not find any suitors in the recent Indian Premier League (IPL 2025), auction have turned up the heat with his fiery batting in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT).

25-year-old Harvik Desai, who was a part of the U19 World Cup winning-India side in 2018, went berserk as he decimated Gujarat Titans’ (GT) R Sai Kishore, who was recently retained by the franchise at the IPL 2025 auction after they activated their Right to Match (RTM) card for INR 2 crores.

The osnalught happened during the fourth over of the first innings of the match between Tamil Nadu and Saurashtra earlier today. Desai opened the batting for Saurashtra and decided to rip apart the GT spinner, smashing him for 3 fours and 2 sixes off five successive balls.

It was also Sai Kishore’s opening over of the match and the raining boundaries from Harvik propelled Saurashtra’s score to 54-1 in just 4 overs.

Desai’s explosive innings began with a short delivery, which he pulled powerfully over midwicket for a massive six. The next delivery was another short one, but this time Desai drove it for a four through midwicket. Reacting to Desai’s success with the short balls, Kishore tried a full delivery, but Desai sent it soaring over long-on for yet another six.

Harvik benefited from some fortune on the following ball, as an outside edge flew past the wicketkeeper for a four. The final ball of the over was struck firmly through extra cover for another four, as Desai picked up an impressive 24 runs from that over.

Desai’s aggressive batting set a strong foundation for Saurashtra as he went on to score a rapid 55 from just 34 balls, with 5 fours and 4 sixes. His innings came to an end when Sai Kishore executed a brilliant caught and bowled to dismiss him.

Speaking about the match, Desai’s knock helped his side win the contest in the end by a convincing margin of 58 runs.
