Virat Kohli’s ascent to become a cricketing icon in India began with the Under-19 Cricket World Cup held in 2008. The team included players like Ravindra Jadeja, Manish Pandey, Pradeep Sangwan, and Saurabh Tiwary. Also, part of the team was Punjab’s fast bowler Siddharth Kaul. On November 28, the fast bowler announced his retirement from Indian cricket after playing three ODIs and as many T20s for the country in the 2018-19 season. The 34-year-old Punjab pacer who played for Punjab in the IPL while playing for Delhi Daredevils, Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Royal Challengers Bangalore, made the announcement on social media.

“The time has now come to call time on my career in India and announce my retirement,” wrote Kaul on X.

Now, Siddharth Kaul has joined work at the State Bank of India. He posted an image announcing the same on X.

Like Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja, Kaul was part of India’s winning U-19 World Cup campaign in 2008 and is now open to joining overseas leagues.

“I want to thank God for the path that has been made for me, the fans for the endless support; for my parents and family who have made sacrifices and believed in you, especially during injuries and lows. My teammates over the years for the dressing room memories and friendships; the BCCI for fulfilling a young child’s dream to represent India and win the 2008 Under-19 World Cup and receive my T20i and ODI caps in 2018,” he said.

Kaul played a total of 88 First-Class matches for Punjab and claimed 297 wickets. In List A contests, the right-arm pacer snaffled 199 wickets in 111 games and collected another 182 wickets in 145 T20s.

Earlier this month, he last appeared in competitive cricket in the ongoing Ranji Trophy contest on the ground at Rohtak between Haryana and Punjab.
