13-year-old Indian batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi answered his critics in a highly impressive fashion during India’s encounter against UAE in U-19 Asia Cup. After Indian bowlers did a fantastic job and bowled out the opposition for only 137 runs in 43 overs, the opening pair of Ayush Mhatre and Vaibhav Suryavanshi led the Men in Blue to victory without losing any wicket.
Mhatre remained unbeaten on 67 alongside Suryavanshi who also finished the match unbeaten on 76. The former scored 4 boundaries and sixes in his innings while the latter hit 3 boundaries and 6 towering sixes to close out the game and lead India to a comprehensive 10-wicket victory.
Suryavanshi finished the match in style as with just a single run required, the left-hander hit a massive six to get India their second win of the tournament.
In the bowling department, Yudhajit Guha starred with figures of 3/15 in 7 overs while Chetan Sharma and Hardik Raj also picked up 2 wickets each as UAE got bundled out for just 137 runs.
This win took India to the top of Group A with 4 points from 3 matches and a fabulous net-run-rate of +2.5. Arch-rivals Pakistan also remain in a very strong position with 2 wins out of as many games and with a net-run-rate of +1.1.
