AUS vs IND [WATCH]: Mitchell Starc dismisses Yashasvi Jaiswal with a peach of a delivery on Day 1 of the Pink Ball Test

Team India‘s second Test against Australia at the Adelaide Oval got off to a rocky start on Friday. Opting to bat first after winning the toss, India’s star opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed for a golden duck on the very first ball, setting the tone for a challenging day ahead for the visitors.

Mitchell Starc strikes first ball with a beauty

Australian speedster Mitchell Starc made an immediate impact, delivering a full, in-swinging delivery at 140.4 km/h on the leg stump. Jaiswal shuffled across too far and missed the flick, getting pinned on the front leg. The ball-tracking technology confirmed that the delivery pitched on leg and was heading to crash into the stumps.

Jaiswal, who famously teased Starc in the first Test with, “You’re bowling too slow,” decided against a review after consulting with KL Rahul. Starc celebrated the breakthrough emphatically, putting Australia in control early.

India’s key changes for the second Test

India made three notable changes to their playing XI for the second Test. Skipper Rohit Sharma returned to the side and moved to the middle order, with Shubman Gill slotting into the top order. Ravichandran Ashwin, India’s experienced off-spinner, replaced Washington Sundar, adding a seasoned spin option to the bowling attack on a dry pitch with a green cover.

“We are going to bat first. Looks a good pitch, a bit dry at the moment, enough grass covering as well. Ashwin is back; I am back. Shubman Gill is also back. I am batting in the middle order,” said Rohit at the toss.
