This afternoon’s game wraps up the season series between the two clubs. They last met in Winnipeg a week ago, when Carolina edged the Jets 4-3 in regulation.
Winnipeg has found itself in plenty of tight games through the quarter mark of the season. They’ve lost five one-goal games in regulation, and a big reason is the lack of depth scoring. The top line and the first pairing led by Josh Morrissey continue to carry the offence, but the bottom nine needs to get going, as the Jets are missing out on crucial points without secondary contributions. There’s still lots of season left, but they can’t wait to get all the lines rolling.
There’s some speculation that Thomas Milic will make his NHL debut between the pipes this afternoon, but we’ll know closer to game time if he will or not.
