Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant achieved a huge Test milestone during the second day of the third Border-Gavaskar series match at The Gabba. During the first session of the second day, Pant took the catch of Usman Khawaja from behind the stumps to complete 150 dismissals in Test cricket.
With this, Pant became only the third Indian wicketkeeper to complete 150 dismissals in Test cricket after MS Dhoni and Syed Kirmani.
In the 41 Test matches that Pant has played so far, he has taken 135 catches as a wicketkeeper and has also performed 15 stumpings.
Currently Dhoni leads the list of most dismissals for an Indian wicketkeeper, with 294 dismissals in the longest format. On second comes Kirmani with 198 dismissals.
Pant did add to his account of dismissals later in the day as he also took the catches of Travis Head and Pat Cummins to take his total number of Test dismissals to 152. It will be interesting how many more players will Pant dismiss by the end of the Border-Gavaskar series.
