After scoring a mere 3 runs in Team India’s first innings score in the third Test against Australia, Virat Kohli worked very hard to redeem himself for the rest of the match. Kohli had continued his poor form with the bat, as he was removed by Josh Hazlewood on Day 3 of the Brisbane test. However, Day four brought a different dream for the match, as Kohli was spotted hitting the nets, practicing, and putting in that extra effort to rediscover his form and make a better contribution in the second innings.

It was not just Kohli who spent time in the nets; even Shubman Gill was part of the nets session while KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja were gnashing away at the Australian bowlers in the middle.

“They have been hitting a lot of balls here. Why are they here? They haven’t been scoring a lot of runs in this series. India need Virat and Gill to fire. It’s so good to see them at the practice session even when Team India is batting out there. They are here in the nets, hitting a lot of balls. You can feel good by hitting a lot of balls. When you are not in form, you can feel better by hitting a lot of balls,” said Harbhajan to the broadcasters.

“It actually boils down to a need and wants little combination of fitness for the country.”

Coming back to the match, KL Rahul showed technical composed synergies to stand the tremendous test of the Australian bowlers in a well-fought fifty that would very much form the bottom line of India’s batting performance at lunch on the fourth day of the third Test

Nine toes down, with a fine contribution from Rahul (84, 139b, 8×4) and an equally feisty Ravindra Jadeja (41, 77b, 4×4), added 67 runs for the 6th wicket before the latter fell to an exceptionally athletic catch by Steve Smith at first slip off Nathan Lyon, as the home side regained the lead.

Nutish Kumar Reddy (7) is the other not out batter at the end of the first session, which had been interrupted short into its hour-long break by some rain.
