As a child of the 1980’s, the local mall was a very important place during my formative years. Stores like Spencer Gifts, Sam Goody, Kay Bee Toys, and Structure were some of the most influential retail locations for my generation. However, none of these locations were more important than the Calendar Kiosk at the Glenbrook Mall in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Every year, I picked out a golf calendar to hang on my wall. It was a big deal as I had plans to admire those golf courses for 12 solid months. As a youngster, I was certain that the golf courses featured on these calendars were unattainable and I would never be able to play such places. That little kid had no idea what was in store for him in the year 2026.
