Bettinardi SB2 Antidote Putter (High-MOI Mallet Reviewed)

Bettinardi SB2 Antidote Putter (High-MOI Mallet Reviewed)

The Bettinardi Antidote SB2 putter is one of four models in the series and an extremely forgiving mallet zero torque design.

Launched as part of the Antidote putter series, the SB2 is joined by the SB1 blade and the SB3 and SB5 mallets as the four zero torque options.

Developed over two years, the putter features Bettinardi’s Simply Balanced technology that ensures the face remains square throughout the stroke for maximum control and consistency on the greens.

The SB2 provides a confidence inspiring mallet sized head – although is on the larger end of that description – and comes in standard as well as SB2 Long as the brand’s first long handled or broomstick putter shaft.

Pros & Cons

✅ Very stable “zero‑torque” design that helps keep the face square through impact
✅ Strong performance on short and especially medium‑length putts
✅ Simply Balanced geometry works for a wide range of stroke types
✅ F.I.T. face milling provides a soft, responsive feel that many players find more traditional than other techy mallets
✅ Excellent alignment help from the topline line plus dual flange lines
❌ Performance on longer putts is solid but not best‑in‑class
❌ Loft and lie are fixed from the factory, limiting custom fit options
❌ The zero‑torque feel and extreme face stability may not suit heavily arced stroke
❌ Price is at the higher end of the putter market

Bettinardi Antidote SB2 Putter Design & Specs

The SB2 Antidote putter has a mid-mallet shape with a clean profile and a high-MOI design for maximum forgiveness.

Compared to the SB1, the SB2 reverses material roles with a 6061 aluminum body paired with a 303 stainless steel face insert.

Bettinardi’s F.I.T. face milling technology removes 55% of the face material for a softer feel from the SB2 at impact without sacrificing responsiveness.

The finish scheme of the putter is also inverted with a Sapphire Blue anodized body and a Diamond Blast face.

The SB2 also uses Simply Balanced Technology for face stability and enhanced stroke consistency with the centered CG minimize torque during the swing.

The heavier head means it is best suited for players who prefer a straight-back, straight-through stroke or who struggle with face rotation during their stroke.

The SB2 putter has a negative shaft offset (-1 degree) that promotes a natural forward press to keep the stroke square and connected.

An additional version of the putter has been added to the portfolio with the launch of the SB2 Long featuring a broomstick type shaft.

Bettinardi Antidote SB2 Putter Review: Is it any good?

The SB2 takes forgiveness to the next level and is one of the best zero torque putters, maintaining a square stroke through impact as well as excellent distance control and a pleasingly soft feel at impact.

The SB2 mallet is all about enhanced forgiveness and alignment stability with the combination of a heavier aluminum body with a steel face insert helps distribute weight outward to boost MOI without sacrificing feel.

It delivers the goods and ranks highly in many of the key points golfers are looking for from a mallet putter. The only negative is the price point compared to other models in the zero torque sector.
