Indian cricket player Ruturaj Gaikwad posted a playful reference to MS Dhoni on his Instagram story on Thursday, July 11. There’s a popular trend online where people add random numbers together to get seven, which is Dhoni’s jersey number.
Dhoni, known as ‘Thala’ among fans of the Chennai team in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has a huge following. Social media is full of posts where fans create the number seven from random numbers. To honor the famous cricketer, fans add captions like ‘Thala for a reason,’ making Dhoni a constant presence online.
Indian cricket player and CSK leader Ruturaj Gaikwad recently joined a popular trend by posting a picture of his T20I cap, which has the number 88 on it. This number shows that he is the 88th player to participate in the shortest cricket format for the Indian national team.
In his post, Gaikwad added the numbers on his cap (8+8) to get 16, and then added 1+6 to make 7. Instead of using the number 7, he chose a yellow heart, which matches the color of the CSK team jersey. Gaikwad also noted that he was ahead of this trend, as he started playing T20I in 2021, before the trend became popular.
“I am ahead of the trend,” Gaikwad shared in his Instagram story.
