Jim Ross is coming home—and he’s feeling better than ever.
The legendary AEW commentator confirmed that he’ll be at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on January 7, 2026, when AEW Dynamite kicks off the new year. For Ross, who’s called some of wrestling’s biggest moments, this return to his home state is more than just another TV taping.
“I’ll be there. I’ll be in Tulsa,” Ross said. “Come join us. It’ll be a hell of a show, just out of old times’ sake and tradition and all that good stuff. It’ll be a night you don’t want to miss. It’ll be a special night.”
Ross has been primarily used on AEW pay-per-views in recent years, often calling marquee matches while dealing with health issues. But following a recent appearance at WrestleCade in Winston-Salem, he offered a positive update on how he’s doing.
“Man, I’m great. Couldn’t feel—could be better. Feel great,” Ross said, reflecting on his time at the fan convention. “It’s a hell of an event… I’m really glad I went.”
The January 7 Dynamite will come hot on the heels of AEW’s World’s End pay-per-view, serving as a key launch point for the company’s 2026 direction. Ross is confident that AEW President Tony Khan will deliver.
“I’m sure that Tony Khan will put together a hell of a show,” Ross added. “No doubt about it.”
With his health back on track and a return to Oklahoma on deck, Ross’ presence in Tulsa adds another layer of meaning to what’s shaping up to be a strong kickoff to AEW’s year.
