Nordicdots, one of our favorite tennis apparel brands are now further expanding their product line for gear. As some of you know, we’ve tested their earlier racquet releases, the Model 98, Model 99 and the Model 100, which are great control racquets.
The two latest releases are the the Model 98 Black Gloss racquet and the TS127. Topspin String Soft 200m Reel.
Model 98 Black Gloss Racquet
The new Model 98 Black Gloss offers a sleek aesthetic to one of their most popular frames. The Model 98 series is a high-performance line designed for aggressive players who value control and feel. While the racket is internally available in two variants (the spin-friendly ‘S’ version and the control-focused ‘Pro’ version), the new Black Gloss finish provides an elegant, all-black option that looks really nice in our opinion. If you ask the average tennis player about the most attractive cosmetic for a tennis racquet, black gloss would rank highly.
We reviewed this racquet highly and have mentioned it as one of the best control racquets of the year, alongside the HEAD Radical. The Pro suits players who hit more through the court and puts a premium on control, and the S is more spin-oriented for players who like a higher launch angle or naturally hits with more spin. The Pro is five grams heavier, which can be significant in tennis, where margins are narrow.

TS127. Topspin String Soft 200m Reel
Alongside the new frame, Nordicdots has just released the TS127 Soft, which is a more comfortable version of their bestselling TS 127 top spin string, which is one of our Recommended Strings for advanced players. It offers excellent control and spin, but can be a bit firm for players who don’t hit hard. That is why Nordicdots have now released a softer version for a wider audience.
