Three-time undisputed world champion Oleksandr Usyk has revealed how Anthony Joshua has been training ahead of Jake Paul fight.

Joshua changed to the same training team as Usyk with his first fight under the new team being Paul with the fight set to take place in Miami on December 19th.

Making his first appearance since his knockout loss to Daniel Dubois in September 2024, Joshua has left Ben Davison.

He now trains out in Spain under head coach ‘Igor’ and is in the same set-up as world champion Usyk.

“I like this guy, because this guy is smart. I think this guy has a very big heart. He really loves boxing.”

‘AJ’ and Usyk have shared a total of 24 rounds together across their two fights where ‘The Cat’ won both contests.

Many have questioned the move to team Usyk with the Ukrainian  boxing a very different style to Joshua and Usyk responded to these stylistic questions.

“We not give my style. We, my team, it’s not only one lion, it’s only Usyk? No, we have another, different style.

“I’m southpaw, Anthony is regular, Anthony doesn’t move like me.

“Listen, we give tools that help Anthony grow. My team with plan, give me what helps me. My team gives plans what helps anyone – not only my plan.”

Speaking to the media at this week’s WBC convention, Usyk revealed just how dangerous this fight could be for ‘The Problem Child.’

“If Anthony Joshua wants, Anthony [can] kill this guy,” Usyk told media at the WBC Convention in Thailand this week.

“Anthony Joshua’s [an] Olympic champion.

“Jake Paul is a sportsman, YouTuber, showman.

“Yes I will pray for Jake Paul, because I want [to] fight with Jake Paul in [an] octagon.”

Paul comes in to the clash with Joshua as a huge underdog.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer has almost every disadvantage possible.

He is six inches shorter, has a six inch smaller reach and far less experience to Joshua.

Paul has a total of 12 professional wins in comparison to Joshua’s 28 with 25 coming by way of knockout.

Despite being a massive underdog, Paul spoke in the launch press conference revealing why he believes he will win.

“He is one of the best heavyweights ever,” he said in the first press conference.

“But I believe fighting a smaller man is often harder for a heavyweight because of the speed difference, the footwork, the angles, the head being off-centre.

“All that power is great, but I just have to avoid that one shot for eight rounds – and I believe I can do that.

“I know I can pick him apart, score points, and make this a great contest.

“Don’t respect me just for getting in there – respect me because I’m going to win.”
