The Phantom X – Best Oracle/Futaba build, team comp, and Revelation Cards

The Phantom X – Best Oracle/Futaba build, team comp, and Revelation Cards

Oracle is another member of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts to join the P5X roster from Persona 5, and like most of the other Thieves, she is one of the best units to be added to the game so far. Oracle is to original Navi unit, and her abilities in P5X are second to none. She’s one of those characters that – if you’re a free-to-play player who’s been saving up your currency for the right character – you should seriously consider splurging on.

Here’s a full breakdown of everything you need to know for the best Oracle build to get the most out of her incredible abilities.

What makes Oracle such an incredible unit is her ability to inflict new weaknesses upon enemies while enhancing the damage they take from their existing weaknesses. She does this by building up her Analysis progress, which builds by 5% for every ally action, or 20% if you’ve used Vulnerability Found!

Using Pentest Complete! or Vulnerability Found! while Oracle’s at 100% Analysis progress, it will set up Data Storm, which increases allies’ attack by 20%, or 40% if targeting a weakness. That’s just one part of it though, as while Data Storm is active, Oracle can use Data Link Established! to inflict Virus.

Virus is the ace up Oracle’s sleeve. Firstly, any elements that the foe has Null, Repel, or Drain for will switch to Resist. Then, any Resist elements become Neutral, and Neutral elements become Weaknesses. The real kick is the final effect though, which is that any elements that are already a Weakness for that foe will have their damage taken enhanced by 25%, meaning if you’re taking on powerful late-game bosses with only one or two weaknesses, you can absolutely pummel them with the right DPS units.

Use Pentest Complete! first

Assuming you’ve gotten Oracle to at least Level 70, then Futaba will start every battle with 100% Analysis progress, so you can use this skill as soon as she’s available to give foes a big Defense debuff while activating Data Storm.

Use Data Link Established! while Data Storm is active

Data Storm lasts for two full turns, and both of Oracle’s other skills give her a Navi cooldown of four actions, which means that – save for any shenanigans from the enemy – you’ll definitely be able to use Oracle again while Data Storm is still active, so make sure you use Data Link Established! to get Virus onto the field and activate those weaknesses.

Target foes’ existing weaknesses for maximum damage

While there will be certain foes that have no weaknesses for you to pummel with Virus, for the majority of enemies, you should still be targeting their existing weaknesses, even after Virus is active, as you’ll get a 25% damage boost when targeting those elements. This is how Oracle turns your team from a set of powerful DPSs to a veritable Shadow-meat grinder.

Part of what makes Oracle such a top-tier unit is that it works with any team. It really doesn’t matter who you’re facing or what sort of setup you’re going for; Oracle enhances your party’s usability in any situation. Just make sure that you bring one or two powerful DPS units of the element your foes are weak to into each fight, and that’s how Oracle will bring the most damage out of the party.

If you can bring a party together that uses some of the amazing 5-star DPS units like Joker or Queen, an attack-buffing support like Chord, and then tack Oracle onto that, you’ll be virtually unstoppable.

The progression for weapons in this game is pretty simple: the more stars a weapon has, the better it is both in terms of stats and its abilities, so you should always try to pull the best weapon possible when building a character. Here are the stats and effects of all of Oracle’s weapons:

There are now a couple of Revelation sets that specifically buff Navi unis – or Elucidators, as the text calls them. Out of those, the best pairing for Oracle is Labor & Resolve. Labor’s 4-set buff is the important one, giving an 8% buff to the party’s Max HP, Attack, and Defense when on a Navi. When combined with Resolve, foes will have their Defense reduced by 10% whenever Oracle inflicts a debuff on them, which is what all her skills do. It’s the perfect way to compound what Oracle already does best.
