Bot player Lee ‘Gumayusi’ Min-hyeong surprisingly leaves T1 after seven years with the organization. This move is even more bewildering on the heels of his third consecutive World Championship with the squad who he spent alongside legendary player Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok. The 23 year old has yet to sign with another team as of writing.

On top of lifting three consecutive World Championships, Gumayusi had a stellar career with T1 as one of the top ADCs in the world. He has won the LCK, arguably the most competitive league in the scene, and was even named the Finals MVP against KT Rolster in their most recent Worlds appearance. Any team would happily take Gumayusi in the upcoming season.
Gumayusi is still a young player with alot more room to grow. While he has been the object of some criticism from fans and pundits of League of Legends alike, championship experience at a young age for Gumayusi is nothing to scoff at. T1 decided to not renew Gumayusi at the final day of his contract or maybe the two just couldn’t come to terms. It won’t be easy to look for a replacement but if your T1 players will definitely be lining up to play for you. T1 may probably be looking at someone with more explosive potential and many eyes are upon the wunderkid Kim ‘Peyz’ Su-hwan.
Peyz is still currently under contract with Chinese squad JD Gaming. But a return to Korea this season and to play for T1 seems very likely. The 19 year old while playing for Gen.G managed to outduel the more experienced Gumayusi in their last encounters.
