Acolytes Protection Agency Reopens Doors » TWNP-Wrestling News

New Orleans was left saying “DAMN” this past weekend when fans at WildKat Sports’ Revolution Rumble saw WWE Hall of Famers APA reunite! In a year that saw The Dudley Boyz hang up their boots, APA got back together for another ride. Faarooq and Bradshaw donned their Acolytes Protection Agency T-shirts one more time to handle business. It doesn’t look like Ron Simmons & John Bradshaw Layfield came to the ring for free. Here’s the latest on APA’s reunion at WildKat Sports, and the fallout of their return.

WildKat Sports Celebrates 14Years of Revolution Rumble

Independent wrestling company WildKat Sports held its 14th annual Revolution Rumble at the Alario Center in New Orleans this past weekend. The lively crowd witnessed appearances by Brian Kendrick, Shane Douglas, and APA. They also got to witness many of tomorrow’s stars clash in high-stakes battles.

One of those matches was the Main Event Triple Threat Ladder Match for the WildKat Sports Revolution Championship. This battle saw three men who had been trading victories battle it out for the coveted prize, as Mickey Drama retained the gold against Simon Phillips and Nathan Bradley. While the fast-paced match brought the crowd to their feet, the aftermath brought the dramaat least for Mickey Drama.

APA Reunites to Clothesline Mickey Drama

After the match, Mickey Drama continued to gloat over his victory. The loud-mouth star raised the ire of Nathan Bradley, who grabbed a chair, when, suddenly, the APA made their way down the aisle.

JBL grabbed the chair from Nathan Bradley, who locked on with shock as the Wrestling God handed the steel object chair to his enforcer, Faarooq. This act of dominance enthralled Mickey Drama, who started mouthing off to Bradley.

Mickey Drama closed in on the first-ever Black WCW World Champion, ordering Simmons to level Bradley with the chair. This demand got under the skin of Bradshaw, who circled the cocky Superstar. Much to Drama’s surprise, JBL grabbed his arm, spinning the Revolution Champion around and dropping him with a Clothesline from Hell.

APA Handled Business for Fortune 5K

JBL and Simmons looked down at the fallen Mickey Drama as the crowd erupted with an “A-P-A! A-P-A!” chant. A shaken Nathan Bradley looked on at the two Hall of Famers. However, his concerns were settled when Bradshaw handed him a chair.

Bradley slowly accepted the gesture as JBL told him this was on behalf of Reginald Gate and Fortune 5K. Therefore, APA was paid to protect their teammate, and they reunited to make sure things went as planned. It’s unknown if APA reunited for just one night or if they will return to WildKat Sports.

After all, JBL has started hitting independent shows all over the world, hitting stars with Clotheslines from Hell. The Wrestling God has been seen in MLW, TNA, AAA, GCW, and other popular wrestling promotions over the past few years.

Now that the APA is reunited, they could pop up again. After all, there might be some unfinished business between Mickey Drama and the APA.

Mickey Drama Reacts to APA Reunion

With a last name as apropos as “Drama,” Mickey Drama brings the drama to WildKat Wrestling. For months, the leader of The Drama Club has laid claim to winning the Revolution Title from Simon Phillips, which has been heavily disputed by WildKat Sports wrestling fans.

Mickey Drama pinned the Champion this past July for longer than three seconds after his faction interfered in the match. However, the referee was down and unable to administer the count.

For months, the group has touted Mickey as the “uncrowned Champion.” This all led to a match between the two where Phillips lay down for Mickey Drama to win the Championship. This upset General Manager Lee Rudin, who made the bout a Triple Threat Ladder Match. The loud-mouth wrestler thought he was going to get his comeuppance in the Ladder Match, but was left in the wake of the APA.

Never one to remain quiet, Mickey Drama reacted to the APA reunion:

“You think I lost. You think that fall changed the mission. The only thing that changed was me. JBL hit me with what he likes to call ‘The Clothesline from Hell.’

Hell? That wasn’t hell. Hell would have been mercy. All he did was give me clarity.

He saved me. When I was lying there on the ground, the world thought I was done. And that’s when the light spoke to me louder than it’s ever spoken to me.”

From there, Mickey Drama goes deeper into the story arc of his faction. He left things very ambiguous, leaving room for a potential APA cameo in the future.

Will APA Return for Drama Club Storyline?

With APA still looking like the badasses they were in the 1990s, can they have one final match, like The Hardys and Dudleys did earlier this year? Anything is possible in wrestling. That said, this APA reunion is supposed to be a one-off. However, Mickey Drama understands psychology, and his latest promo teases a change in direction for his factionand leaves the door open for an APA return.

The Drama Club leader continued on his social media post about what the light told him:

“It didn’t show me belts. It didn’t show me gold. It showed me the truth.

A belt? That’s temporary. The mission? That’s infinite. The Drama Club doesn’t need a Championship to lead this company.

Don’t you understand that? TyreeJBL…all of that betrayal, none of it. None of it was able to stop the light.

When I was lying there, unconscious, the light was wide awake, and it reminded me what this was all about. Not a belt. Not ladders. Influence. Vision. And then it showed, to me, a chapter that ends WildKat Sports as you know it.”

This cryptic promo begins to take a turn as Mickey Drama gets a colder, more serious expression on his face. From there, the victim of JBL’s Clothesline from Hell gives a lasting threat.

Mickey Drama Threatens to End WildKat Sports

WildKat Sports celebrated its 14th Revolution Rumble this past weekend. If Mickey Drama has his way, it will be their last.

The young upstart reflected on what the light told him after being knocked out by JBL’s Clothesline from Hell:

“And truly, I’ve never seen anything more beautiful. All you’ve done is open up a door that should’ve stayed shut.

You woke up something that wasn’t supposed to rise yet, and now? Now, it’s awake. And the light isn’t chasing trophies anymore, because the light is moving forward to….You’ll see.

You have no idea what you’ve unleashed.”

It remains to be seen what’s next for APA and if they will be a part of the Mickey Drama vs. WildKat Sports storyline. Neither Hall of Famer is under a WWE Legends Deal, although they both have some licensing agreements with the company.

The last time APA appeared on WWE TV together was to announce picks on Raw during the 2024 Draft. With John Cena’s last match in Washington, D.C., perhaps APA will sit in the crowd for a Saturday Night’s Main Event cameo. After all, John Cena won his first WWE World Title by beating JBL at WrestleMania 21.
