Mahika Gaur, the talented left-arm seamer from England, has made the tough decision to withdraw from this year’s Women’s Hundred tournament due to a side strain. Despite being retained by Manchester Originals after a stellar debut season, the 18-year-old is prioritizing her recovery during the month-long competition window.

Her rehabilitation will be closely monitored by medical teams from both the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and her regional team, Thunder.

Gaur’s absence comes after missing England’s early-season series against Pakistan to complete her A-levels. Subsequently, she was sidelined from the T20I squad against New Zealand due to her injury. Her decision to skip the Hundred may impact her chances of selection for England’s squad in the upcoming T20 World Cup in Bangladesh.

Having started her international journey with UAE at just 12 years old, Gaur made a significant mark in her England debut against Sri Lanka last summer, where she impressed with figures of 3 for 26 in her ODI debut at Chester-le-Street in September.
