TNA iMPACT Results

Our show kicks off with TNA World Champion Frankie Kazarian arriving in the ring for the King’s Speech. Kaz addresses the El Paso crowd. The crowd is not happy. Kaz recaps his title defense against JDC at Final Resolution. He says he’s right where he belongs: at the top. Kaz says he’s the guy to lead TNA into the AMC. The champion says he’s heard the marks complain on social media but he doesn’t care. The self-proclaimed King tells the crowd to get used to him as their champion before Mike Santana’s music interrupts the promo.

Santana stands tall in the crowd. He tells Kaz to shut up. Mike hypes up the El Paso crowd with an intro in Spanish. Santana isn’t mad at Kaz for beating him for the world title. He respects it because Kaz too his opportunity and ran with it. But Santana is pissed and he won’t stop till he gets his TNA World Championship back.

Santana brings up the Team TNA versus Team NXT steel cage match set for next week. He challenges Frankie Kazarian to a world title match at Final Genesis on January 17, 2026. Kaz tells Santana “that doesn’t work for me brother” but proud Latino is unfazed. The segment ends as the broadcast team tells fans about Mike’s rematch clause.

Just Announced: Frankie Kazarian defends his world title against Mike Santana at TNA Genesis.

Team NXT speaks

NXT boys are backstage. Lexis King hypes up tonight’s match against Matt Cardona. He calls Cardona a “backyard wrestler.” Tyson DuPont and Tyriek Igwe have a message for TNA World Tag Team Champions The Hardys. TNA International Champion Stacks addresses Santino Marella, calling him a good Director of Authority but a terrible father because Santino questioned his relationship with Arianna Grace. FIY: Stacks and Arianna are dating in real life. Team NXT promises to win the steel cage match next week on TNA iMPACT.

Matt Cardona vs. Lexis King

  • The finish of the match saw Lexis King catch Matt Cardona off guard with a sneak pin for the win.

Winner: Lexis King

After the match, Cardona jumps King but TNA International Champion Stacks attacks Matt from behind. Lexis King uses his cane to attack Cardona’s arm. Steve Maclin arrives to make the save but Cardona seems hurt. Team NXT will have the advantage in the steel cage match next week on TNA iMPACT.

Grade: C+

King is a solid heel but his in-ring work is mid at best. Stacks is doing great for someone who was Tony D’Angelo’s lackey in The Family. He’s in-ring work has greatly improved as well. As for the outcome, giving heels the advantage adds intrigue to the match.

Angel Warriors speak

The Angel Warriors recap their title match at TNA Final Resolution. Xia Brookside says they beat the crap out of each but the respect is mutual at the end of the day. Robert Stone, Victoria Crawford, Tessa Blanchard, and Mila Moore interrupt. Tessa has her eyes laser focused on the TNA Knockouts World Championship. A future match-up is teased between Blanchard and Lei Ying Lee.

Heather & M By Elegance (w/ Personal Concierge) vs. Harley Hudson & Myla Grace

  • The finish of the match saw Heather reverse Myla Grace’s pinfall attempt into a rope-assisted pin of her own for the win.

Winners: Heather and M By Elegance

Grade: B+

Good tag team match that could’ve benefitted from more TV time. Harley Hudson and Myla Grace continue to grow as competitors with each match. M by Elegance took a nasty bump during the match. Hopefully, she will be okay.

Matt Cardona out of steel cage match

The latest TNA injury report states that Matt Cardona is medically uncleared to compete following Lexis King’s assault. Tom Hannifan said Cardona won’t make it inside the Steel Cage match next week on TNA iMPACT.

Rich Swann backstage interview

Rich Swann addresses costing AJ Francis the TNA X Division Championship match against Leon Slater last week at Final Resolution. Swann recalls linking up with Francis before AJ even made it to wrestling, saying he was impressed by his stature. Rich says he’s tired of getting looked down as if he isn’t a former X Division and World Champion. As for the FIR$T CLA$$, Swann says, it’s over. AJ Francis appears with a sneak attack to cap off the segment.

Jake Something vs. Cedric Alexander vs. Ryan Nemeth vs. Dezmond Xavier vs. B.D.E. vs. Jason Hotch – TNA X Division Title #1 Contender’s Match

  • The finish of the match saw Cedric Alexander plant B.D.E. with a Lumbar Check for the win.

Winner: Cedric Alexander

Grade: A-

This is what the X Division is all about. Unstoppable chaos inside the ring. The X Division roster has some brilliant names. Ryan Nemeth eating another superkick from Mara Sade was funny. B.D.E was impressive tonight. Dezmond Xavier is just brilliant inside the ring. This writer thought Hotch was going to win but there’s clearly some unfinished business between Cedric and Leon Slater.

The System speaks

The search is on for The System’s newest member. Brian Myers and the crew prepare to look for JDC’s replacement. Dango stops Eddie Edwards and tells him he is going to bring the fight to his stablemate at TNA Genesis. Edwards says Dango shouldn’t expect anything less from him.

Frankie Kazarian confronts Santino Marella and Arianna Grace. Kaz tells him he doesn’t want to defend the title against Santana at TNA Genesis. Marella has a solution. He’ll set up a battle royal with the winner facing Kaz. Frankie is happy that he gets to defend his title at TNA’s AMC debut. Santino tells him the premiere is in five weeks but Kaz is defending the title in two weeks — and the Santana match is still on. The NXT boys show up. Stacks tells his future father-in-law to do the right thing and book four-on-five next week on TNA iMPACT inside a steel cage or “you’re going to be a controlling father.” Arianna Grace has enough and slaps her boyfriend, causing Team NXT to leave them alone.

Brian Myers & Eddie Edwards vs. Sinner & Saint (Judas Icarus & Travis Williams)

  • The finish of the match saw Brian Myers hit Travis Williams with the Roster Cut followed by the Boston Knee Party from Eddie Edwards for the winning pin.

Winners: Brian Myers and Eddie Edwards

After the match, The System show Sinner and Saint respect by raising their hands.

Grade: B+

Good tag team action. Sinner and Saint seem to be working as faces following their betrayal at the hands of Eric Young. Sky is the limit for Icarus and Williams who will hopefully thrive as a tag team when TNA iMPACT hits AMC.

We hear from The Hardys

The TNA World Tag Team Champions are in the ring. Matt says it’s good to be back in El Paso. He can feel Eddie Guerrero all around him. The crowd chants “Eddie.” Hardy references their successful tag team title defense at TNA Final Resolution before hyping up the steel cage match next week.

Jeff thanks the El Paso crowd. He says Cardona is injured but Santino has to find a replacement so they can enter the cage at their full strength. The lights go off and The Righteous’ music hit. Hannifan recalls the pair confronting The Hardys at Final Resolution. Vincent grabs the mic. This is amazing, he says. He then introduces himself and his partner to the crowd.

Matt says they know exactly who The Righteous are but question Vince and Dutch’s intentions. Vincent says they aren’t here to hurt The Hardys. They admire them. The Hardys are gods walking among mortals, he says. Dutch grabs the mic. He says it’s an honor to stand in the presence of Matt and Jeff. Dutch says The Righteous don’t want to replace The Hardys. Vincent says they have come to pay their respects. He says The Hardys “truly are forever.” Matt still doesn’t believe why The Righerous are here. Vincent says they just want to wish them luck ahead of their steel cage match next week. The promo ends with Vincent teasing more members of The Righteous.

Matt Cardona’s replacement revealed

Santino Marella and Arianna Grace appear for an in-ring promo. Marella talks about Matt Cardona’s medical status. He says Cardona is unable to complete. That being said, they have found a replacement and it’s none other than Santino Marella himself. Arianna is stunned. Santino will join Team TNA against Team NXT inside the steel cage next week.

Next week on TNA iMPACT

  • Angel Warriors vs. Mila Moore & Tessa Blanchard
  • 20-man Battle Royal to determine the #1 Contender to the TNA World Title
  • Elijah will be in concert
  • Mike Santana, The Hardys, Steve Maclin & Santino Marella vs. Stacks, Lexis King, Brooks Jensen, Tyson & Tyriek – Steel Cage

Dani Luna vs. Indi Hartwell – Dog Collar Match

  • The finish of the match saw Dani Luna plant Indi Hartwell with a Luna Landing for the win.

Winner: Dani Luna

Grade: B+

The presentation was great but the ending seemed a bit uncoordinated. It appears there was some miscommunication between Luna and Hartwell when it came to the powder spot. That being said, Luna winning was the right decision to put her in contention for a future shot at the world title.

Overall Grade: B-

A decent show from TNA Wrestling this week. The X Division number one contender’s match was the highlight of the night. The promo exchange between Hardys and Righteous was bizarre and felt like an awkward long watch. TNA appears to be on the right track heading over to AMC next month. This writer is looking forward to the Steel Cage match next week.
